Global Specialty Foods is a national leader in the distribution of gourmet specialty foods.  Since its founding in 1989 by John A. Magnuson, the company has focused on niche products from around the world.  That niche is further defined by natural and organic foods from small producers who are the best in their respective product categories.

Global Specialty Foods mission is therefore, to provide the best quality specialty food products at the best possible value.

As a result of a long career in the wine industry, our founder has honed the skill to taste and evaluate products.  He has also traveled extensively to meet the farmers, growers, producers and importers of specialty foods from around the world.

Recent visits to Chile, South America have lead to the direct importation of exceptional quality extra virgin olive oil, 100% organic extra virgin olive oil and infused organic oils.  He has discovered amazing wine vinegars, distinctive spices and honeys, as well as the famous Chilean Carica.

On trips to France, we have discovered the incredible A L’Olivier oils and vinegars, worked on the original blending of Terres Rouge fruit flavored vinegars, discovered the wonderful chocolates of Mazet and the sea salts from Espirit de Sel.

In Italy, there have been many discoveries of extra virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegars, truffle products, vegetables, and sparkling fruit juices.  Similar finds have been made in Spain, Greece and Australia.

On the home front, we have sought out the best of the best in specialty foods from Napa and Sonoma in California, from the Willamette Valley in Oregon and the many quality products from Washington State.

We have also specialized in seeking out the best of the best in our local markets.  With our “green campaign, we have identified and formed partnerships with local producers and entrepreneurs in the state of Georgia as well as the neighboring states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida and Alabama.

We are very proud of our large customer base that includes Whole Foods Markets, Wild Oats Markets, Dean and Deluca, A Southern Season, Dierberg’s, Newton Farms, Martin’s Wine Cellar and A Better Cheddar.

In addition, Global Specialty Foods sells to a vast network of gourmet food retailers across the United States, the Caribbean and Europe.  These customers are serviced by our presence at the AmericasMart in Atlanta and by our extensive sales rep network covering all states from Maine to Florida and from the Atlantic to Nebraska.
